Hello From Exeter England.  Two days ago I was in Bude, and decided to hike through the Dartmoor National Park.  Despite the rain, it was a great hike, and my rain proof gear kept me dry!  A moor is a type of habitat with low growing vegiatation and acidic soil.  There are many moors in Africa.  The Dartmoor has alot of heather which is not the easiest stuff to walk through.  The gentalman who operated the Backpackers Hostel in Bude was very helpful in finding places to stay in Moor.  I started my hike in Princetown and stayed a night in a little caffe that offered accomidation called the Fox Tor caffe, then hiked to a very small village called Bridgeport (about 6 miles) the hike took me through Iron Age settlements and even a small coniferous forest.  From Portsbridge the gentalman working at the YHA Hostel gave me a ride all the way into Exeter where I am this morning.  On the way we drove through a spectacular old English Oak Forest that was just amazing.

Exeter is a great city full of old medievil churches and Roman remians.  I took 2 free tours yesterday and learned alot about the history of this amazing city which was "the most important Roman city of ancient times", according to one lady I talked to.  There are many cathedrals of saints of all types Saxon, Celtic, Roman.  In all, the guide said there are over 90 registered churches here including mosks and synagoges.  Got to go.  Next stop Wales!
