Hello From Kells - Kells is a nice city in Meath which is where it is said that the book of Kells was finished.  It is said that it was started on the Isle of Iona  (an Island in Scotland) which was founded by Columban monks in the 560s, then moved to Kells or possably finished here after the viking raidings began.  There is a big tower and a house of Columba in the town which date back to the 10th century, and a heritage center that has replicas of some great Celtic artifacts like broches and croziers and even the Book of Kells itself.

Today I hitchiked out to see the Louchcrew Cairns.  I got rides very easily from nice local people.  A legend says that these Cairns (burial chambers) were created from a witch jumping from one hill to the next dropping stones from her apron.  What these chambers were used for is a mystery like the chambers at Newgrange.  Well take care- Micah
