Hello from Paris,
The reason it has taken so long to right a blog about Paris is that I have actually written it 2 times already, but lost my internet connection both times so I had to start over. I arrived in Paris two days ago after a pleasnt train ride from Amsterdam. I found out that in the Amsterdam Train Station there is no playing musicwhile waiting for the train. Amsterdam was fun, but the hostel was a little too smokey for me, and my eyes were sore when I left. Once I got to the Paris train station, I took the underground Metro Subway system a few stops and navigated my way to the Aloha Hostel with a little help. I left my I-Pod on the train I think, so I can make do without that. After all, I've still got the pennywhistle! The first thing I did when I got to the Hostel was to take a shower, and then I met my roomates who were from Japan, France and America. I also met a nice man from Korea. The roomate from France is thinking of opening a bread restraunt in New York, and was saying that the cost of living in Paris is really high. He also said that this is not the easiest place to start a buisiness.
The next day, I explored the city. I was blown away, because I have never seen buildings like the ones here inb Paris. So far, they are all at least 3 stories high and are made out of stone polished and carved with colums, figures, and desighns kind of like the archetecture I've seen in pictures of Rome. The buildings are huge, and the city is really beautifull. People I have met here are polite and helpful. "Mercy" is a word for thank you I think and "Bonsoure" meens hello.
I went to what in America we call a farmers market yesterday morning. There was many types of cheese, wool blankets, art, fresh ripe fruit and vegies (here called bioloigica or something to that affect), turkish food, crapes. I had a crape that was excelent and it was a joy to watch the cook make it. I could tell he'd been doing it for a while.
I also went to some beautiful parks yesterday. Many parents were walking with there little children in the park and it was very nice. The lakes are still frozen over here in the morning, because it is so cold. I sent a few pictures I took of the Eiffel Towere and the Mona Lisa. I took the picture of the Mona Lisa from the Museum Du'Louve (pardon my spelling, Im pushed for time). FOr those of you who havent seen the Da'Vinci code the louve has a huge collection of renasaunce art from France and Itally and alot of other things.
Well, I'm outa time, today I may go to Disney Land here in Paris. Take care...
