December 21

Hi again from Paris.  I am having a really nice time here and learning about myself and the world.  I have been doing alot of 2 things: walking and thinking, so I thought Id share some of my thoughts in case anyones interested.

Yesterday, I went to the zoo, and had a great time.  In fact, I had a better time at the zoo than I did at the art gallery.  I was really thinking about that, because I like art.  I think the reason is that art that has been created is not as exciting to me as life.  Another thing happened today I went to an old part of Paris and shared a few coins with some people who were in need, and then I had a great day.  I think what matters most to me in life is the relations with others.  Maybe thats why I had a better time at the zoo, because there was life there and I got to experience that beauty.

Well, I know its not the deepest thought in the world, but its something right.  I think 2 big causes of problems I have seen in the world are: 1) disconnection from nature and 2) dissconnection from our creativity.

Another thing I have been thinking alot about has to do with what is fundamental to a human life.  I think that having a home and a family and the freedom to believe what we want is so important.  Many people such as myself see our connection to the land as sacred and yet in any country we are forced to pay taxes that are used for things like war.  I think that is so destructive to the most important thing to someone like myself our sacred connection to the land.  So I've been thinking about that, and it makes me feel like a refuge.

Traveling is such a great way to open up to thoughts like these that have been somewhere in my mind.
