Hello from Brest France - I have been unable to get to a computer untill now, but have been having a nice time in Brittany.  Yesterday I sent some pictures that I took in Le Conquet.  Le Cpnquet is a fishing town with a history going back to Iron age Celts.  It was raided ti,e and again by English and Norman qnd Viking raiders through the centurys.  The transit system here is great for a traveller like myself, because once you are in a city such as Brest, it is easy to take the bus and spend the day in any of the smaller coastal towns.  I have been finding many beautiful old Celtic Churchs.  The one I was in yesterday had stain glass windows of some of my Celtic saints: Pol-deLeon, Gwievear, and then I took a walk along the coast to St Matheus point and saw some great lighthouses and an old abbey dedicated to St Mathiue presumably on a site originally established by St Tanguay.  There was also another church that used to be in the town which was dedicated to saint Christopher the patron saint of travelling, but that was destroyed in the 15th century by raiders.  It is not too dificult to get by without speaking French, and having taken some Latin and Spanish helps.  I have found a few speakers of the original Breton language, and all sighns are usually written in both languages.  I was told by one ,an who worked at a bookstore qnd spoke English that there are schools being established around Brittany that teach everything in Breton including math.  Well, I am off now to a town called Saint-Pol-De-Leon where I will spend the night and then tomorow I am going to St Breiuc.
