Hello From Penzance - There are alot of pirate costumes around here. Yesterday mornig I arrived from Falmouth. Both Falmouth and Penzance are in Cornwall which is owned by Prince Charles. Sometimes I have heard it called the land of Saints, because all of the place names are somehow related to a saint. It was once a big minning area with gold tin and other minerals. One local told me that the industrial revolution started here and the first gas lamp was lit in Penzance. There is a statue in the middle of town on a street called Market Jew Street of a man, last name Davys, who invented the use of nitrous oxide as a pain killer. He also worked with Michael Faraday and helped discover a few new elements on the periodic table. Today I went walking on a path that goes through 4 different parishs. I didn't make it all the way, but I hiked about 25 miles. Tomorow I may start hiking the Cornwall coast path to St Just. I hope everyone is doing well.
