Hello from St Breiuc. I am nearing the end of my time in Brittany now
(6 days left, 7 nights) I will miss it here and want to come back.
Especially the smaller cities like the one I was at yesterday
Saint-Pol-De-Leon. It was like that town where the munchkins live in
the wizard of Oz. The Cathedral there associated with St Pol was
beautiful as are all of the cathedrals I have seen here thus far.
Insidethe skull of the saint is housed in a bronze minuature house,
and the stain glass windows depict stories of the liives of saints
like St Pol defeating the dragon. The other cathedral there, called
Notre Dame Kreisker, was built in the 15 & 16 century, has the tallest
tower of all of Brittany and was used for navigation. The town had a
busteling economy around the time it was built. They say that his is
the reason Napoleon did not destroy it. Maybe your curious about what
I have been eating here? Well today I had Chineese food for lunch at
a restraunt in StPolDeLeon called the Phenix Dragon. The lady who
waited on me was very nice and she lived in wales for 1 year in Usk
which is in the South in Cardigan. She said she liked it there. She
also has a cusin who lives in LA. She gave me a souveneir picture for
an artichoke festival, because they grow alot of artichokes in that
area. For dinner I ate, for the third time, more out of desparateness
than want this time, dinner at a chain restraunt called Buffalo Grill
which has an American theme. Country music sung in American, as much
of the music and movies here are from America. Its kind of a kick to
eat American as though it were an ethnic food. Bye for now. Orvwa
