Hi From Edinburgh.  Its a nice sunny day over here.  Great for walking in the park.  Edinburgh is a nice city, but very busy, like all cities.  Ill stay here untill Monday when I depart for Wales.  I am going to stay there at an Ashram for a week before I go to Llangollen, Wales and then off to Spain.  Here are some interesting things I learned about Scotland in the book Im reading:
-  The flag of Scotland came about in around the 6th century when a pictish warior had a vision of Saint
Andrew on a cross before he went to battle.
-  Many Socts opposed the union of crowns in 1714 after William of Orange's economic policy
outlawed important English investments in an oversees colony in Derion started by William Paterson.  The
failed settlement led to a lost of 1/4 of all circulating assets in Scotland.  The same man is the Patterson
who started the Bank of Scotland.
The history of Scotland is a sad and tirbulent history that is sometimes hard to read, but alot can be learned from it about certain patterns in politics like those in the world today.  Wars started by pursecution and powerful aristocrats battling it out at the expence of the poor and the country.  Fortunitly Scotland has done well for itself today.  There are many fair trade cities, very little homlessness, and they are working hard to reduce carbon emissions.
